Public Employment Labor Relations Forum set for Oct. 22-23
Federal Magistrate Judge Patricia Barksdale and Public Employees Relations Commission General Counsel Greg Morton will be among more than a dozen presenters later this week at the 52nd Annual Public Employment Labor Relations Forum in Orlando.
The live, October 22-23 seminar at the Lowes Sapphire Falls Resort is sponsored by the Labor & Employment Law, and the City, County, and Local Government Law sections.
“In addition to being an excellent networking opportunity, this annual forum is the premier event for public sector labor and employment law professionals, offering timely legal updates and dynamic discussions tailored to this unique practice area,” sponsors say. More information is available here.
Magistrate Judge Barksdale, who serves in the Middle District of Florida, will present “Avoiding AI Traps in Litigation: Perspectives from the Bench,” on October 23 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:05 p.m.
Earlier in the morning, from 11:20 a.m. to 12:10 p.m., Morton will present “PERC Case Updates and Hot Topics.”
Another highlight will be the announcement of the 2026 recipient of the “Donna Maggert Poole Award,” honoring a Florida Bar member who has made “significant contributions to public sector labor and employment law in the state of Florida.”
The event is approved by The Florida Bar for 11 CLE (1 Ethics, 1 Technology), and 11 certification credits in Labor & Employment Law and City, County & Local Government Law.
