The award will be presented at the upcoming Florida GOP 2026 Sunshine State Showdown where grassroots leaders, elected officials, and supporters from across the state will gather on June 27, 2026, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
“Senator Rick Scott has been a tireless advocate for Florida families, a champion for fiscal responsibility, and a leader who consistently delivers results,” said Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power. “From his service in the Navy, to tenure as Governor, to his work in the United States Senate, he has demonstrated what it means to lead with purpose, principle, and accountability. We are proud to recognize him as our Statesman of the Year.”
Since his election to the Senate, Senator Scott has been a leading voice on issues including economic growth, national security, and reducing government spending. Prior to that, he served two terms as Florida’s Governor, where he focused on job creation, JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!, and strengthening the state’s economy.
The Statesman of the Year award is the highest annual honor given by the Republican Party of Florida. The 2025 recipient was White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
